We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator and leader to fill the role of Director of Education Services. The Director will lead the successful operation of our growing and innovative education programs, develop curriculum, maintain contracts, and manage a growing staff  of Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TVIs) and Orientation & Mobility Specialists within the Education Services Department.

Reports to the Vice President of Program Services. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Education specializing in students with visual impairments or special education with 8+ years of direct teaching, supervision, and/or program management in a public or private school setting. Current TVI license required, COMS certification preferred, dual certification in TVI and O&M is a plus. Must have solid supervision/management experience and strong working knowledge of special education legislation, current trends and best practices. 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provides thought leadership and leads the growth of educational vision services in NH
  • Partners with the NH Department of Education and school systems throughout NH to expand the use of digital technology and strengthen educational programming for students with visual impairments
  • Recruits and leads TVI and O&M staff, provides professional development, and supports staff in implementation of best practices 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Special Education Directors, school systems, and other key education influencers
  • Manages requests for services and staff caseloads
  • Communicates regularly with school district personnel, other professionals and parents to ensure student needs are met
  • Collaborates with Early Supports and Services agencies to provide for vision needs of children from birth to age three
  • Contributes to marketing, business development, and grant proposal efforts

SCHEDULE:

Full time position (M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) based in Concord, NH and serving the entire state of NH.

Future In Sight is a private, non-profit organization providing a full range of education and rehabilitation services and technology training to infants, toddlers, children, adults and seniors who are blind and visually impaired.
