Our Orientation and Mobility Specialists are incredible at what they do. They spend much of their time on the road helping people who are blind or visually impaired in their homes, schools, and communities learn to navigate daily tasks safely and independently.
What’s more, Future In Sight Orientation and Mobility Specialists Michael Mulligan and Kelly Spain-Kelly are also driving a new project – the quest to explore, test, and evaluate all sorts of new aids and devices that are emerging in the field of vision loss. They will be documenting and sharing their findings, tips and observations in a series of video blogs over the coming months. The first series will be focused on apps and devices, with a plan to cover many topics relevant to visual impairment, including navigational tools, technology and resources.
The goal is to help users be aware of and sift through all the options that are available and growing in popularity. In the videos, they will share information that will help people with vision loss select products for specific needs, as well as where to get them and what things generally cost. They will also demonstrate how they are configured and used, and share any pros and cons they discover along the way. We can’t wait.
Stay tuned for more from Michael & Kelly!
