Concord, NH, November 22, 2021. The Future In Sight Board of Directors announced at its Annual Meeting that Randy Pierce has been appointed as the next President and Chief Executive Officer. Randy is an experienced nonprofit leader who lives the mission of inspiring all individuals to achieve their peak potential, especially those who experience vision loss and blindness. Randy Pierce will begin leading the next phase of Future In Sight’s growth starting in December 2021.

In 2010, Randy Pierce founded 2020 Vision Quest with his wife Tracy, an organization that leads and inspires students and professionals to reach beyond adversity, build positivity, and create resilience. Randy’s passion encouraged him to overcome his challenges with blindness, resulting in amazing adventures and honors such as earning his second-degree black belt; the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters Degree from UNH-Manchester; achieving historic hiking accomplishments in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, Africa’s highest peak (Mount Kilimanjaro), and Machu Picchu in South American Andes; winning two national marathon championships and running seven Boston Marathons, and competing in Tough Mudder events.
In addition, Randy is a captivating motivational speaker who educates through his unique viewpoints on the adventures and challenges of a man who chose a life filled with incredible adventure-laden experiences, despite being suddenly stricken with a neurological disease rendering him blind at age 22. He has delivered keynotes and motivational presentations to dozens of corporations, including Google, Johnson & Johnson (DePuy Synthes division), and Microsoft. A two-time TED Talk presenter, he has also spoken at many colleges and universities such as M.I.T., Boston University, and the University of New Hampshire, including a handful of commencement addresses. Randy is a published author releasing his first book, co-authored with his wife, Tracy, See you at the Summit: My Blind Journey from the Depths of Loss to the Heights of Achievement. Randy has also appeared on local and national radio shows, including NPR, and on multiple national television shows—most notably Rosie O’Donnell, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Best Damn Sports Show Period.
Randy has a strong vision for creating the path forward at Future In Sight, “My appreciation and passion for Future In Sight was ignited through their incredible work guiding me through the training and skills necessary to live and thrive in my journey to unexpected blindness. The critical need for so many with a similar journey fuels my enthusiasm to guide this team as we assess the paths and partnerships which will allow us to focus forward on an incredibly positive Future In Sight!”
Randy is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors for Future In Sight, and a past president of the Hudson, New Hampshire Lions Club. He has also received many awards over the years, including the Jo Adcock Service Award for his outstanding service on behalf of individuals who are blind or visually impaired and the Spirit of New Hampshire Volunteer Service Award in honor of his tremendous impact championing volunteerism. Randy has also been awarded the Toastmasters International Speaker Award, a New England Emmy Award for Windows to the Wild “Hiking in the Dark” (NHPTV), UNH’s Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement, and was featured in NH Magazine’s “It” List. Most recently, Randy’s organization, 2020 Vision Quest, was the recipient of Future In Sight’s Access Award for significant fundraising and advocacy efforts for two organizations that support the visually impaired community: Future In Sight and the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
