Kaila‘s Crafts: Papier-Mâché Basics – Making a Bowl *ADULTS & YOUTH*

Are you interested in the art of paper Mâché?  In this class we will use items that can be found in the home to create a bowl. We will cover different ways of making paste as well as creating a non-cook paste together. The class will cover different techniques to making Papier-mâché. Please note that the layers will need time to dry making this project will take a few days. You will be provided with all of the steps needed to complete the bowl.

 Supplies needed:

For the Paste:

• 1 cup all purpose flour
• 2 cups warm water
• A mixing bowl, preferably one with a lid as the paste can last several days in the fridge.
• A spoon for mixing

Other materials:

• Several sheets of Newspaper
• A bowl to use as a mold, preferably one with out a lip on it
• Plastic wrap to cover your mold
• A plastic fork
• A tray or something to protect your work area, this project is messy

*There is no cost for this craft, as all you need are the above common items.
