Assistive Tech Lab: Creating A Portable Scan and Read Station for Seeing AI and KNFB reader
February 9 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Going to restaurants and meetings in which inaccessible documents are handed out can be very frustrating for someone with a vision impairment. With the free Seeing AI app by Microsoft, individuals who experience vision impairments can quickly read a menu or document that has just been handed to them. Positioning a phone and the document can be difficult for individuals with limited vision. Participants will make a handsfree portable scan and read device that can be used with a smartphone to access information on the fly.
