The Association is an official national partner for the USABA/Wellpoint Foundation National Fitness Challenge. The program will run through November 30, 2014. The goal of the program is to raise the physical activity levels of each participant to the CDC recommended levels by using the Nike Fuel Band by integrating the use of technology and social media as a means to goal-set, create a team environment and encourage leadership within the team. Over the ten month program, all Fitness Challenge participants will have the opportunity to use the Nike Fuel Band to track their fitness goals, compare their progress to other program participants from across the United States and compete for monthly USABA prizes.

Since its founding in 1976, USABA, a community-based organization of the United States Olympic Committee, has reached more than 100,000 blind individuals. The organization has emerged as more than just a world-class trainer of blind athletes, it has become a champion of the abilities of Americans who are legally blind. USABA’s mission: to enhance the lives of blind and visually impaired people by providing the opportunity for participation in sports and physical activity. For more information go to
