CONCORD, N.H. (April 20, 2017) – Future In Sight has partnered with Crotched Mountain Foundation’s ATECH Services to run the vision loss education program formerly offered by ATECH Services. The agreement allows Future In Sight to expand the availability of education services for blind and visually impaired children across the state.

Crotched Mountain Foundation will continue to handle the management, finances, and structure of ATECH Services, which provides assistive technology to children and adults with disabilities.

The two organizations will also collaborate to offer assistive technology assessment, training, and products to visually impaired children within local school systems. The expansion will broaden Future In Sight’s reach to serve more children by expanding its assistive technology programming, reducing barriers for those with vision impairments. The agreement involves a few dozen children and teachers from Crotched Mountain.

Future In Sight and Crotched Mountain share similar missions: to help people of all ages with disabilities, including vision loss, lead fulfilling, hopeful, and productive lives at work, home, school, and play. Crotched Mountain Foundation is based in Greenfield, N.H., and ATECH Services is located in Concord, N.H.

By acquiring the educational program that serves children with sight loss, we saw an opportunity to strengthen services for children and broaden our reach in New Hampshire,” says David Morgan, the Future In Sight’s President and CEO.

In addition to working with the visually impaired, Crotched Mountain offers specialized education, rehabilitation, community and residential support services for thousands of people with developmental and behavioral disabilities across the region.

“We see real benefit in having Future In Sight take in our program for children with sight impairments,” says Jonathan Eriquezzo, Vice President of Innovation for Crotched Mountain. “With their expertise and strength in this field, we know our students and teachers will be well-served.”
