Our amazing volunteers give their time and energy every day to help clients feel valued, seen, encouraged, and celebrated, as they deserve. This National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 21-27, 2024, provides an opportunity for all of us at Future In Sight and in the wider community to recognize and thank these incredible colleagues for their service and dedication.

Our volunteers understand the practical and emotional value of the transportation they provide to people who do not drive. Whether it is a ride to a medical appointment, a grocery store, a peer support group meeting, a Future In Sight activity, or to a Silver Retreat, these are important journeys of connection and support.

Along with transportation, our volunteers contribute through weekly in-person visits, friendly calls, serving as peer support facilitators and peer support callers. Whether they serve on our Board of Directors, work on office projects, or volunteer at the Annual Walk for Sight, our volunteers are crucial partners with the Future In Sight staff as we all focus on delivering the best possible services to clients.

Most important, our volunteers create an environment in which every interaction is an opportunity to uplift, encourage, and provide hope. These moments of connection have a ripple effect, bringing the benefits of a local support network to communities across New Hampshire, where every client knows they can rely on a caring individual and the organization that supports them.

So, during this National Volunteer Week, we ask that you join us as we extend a heartfelt thank-you to all our volunteers:

Thank you for your part in the hours and miles of service to our clients. Thank you for your kindness, dedication, and the joy you bring to others with every ride, every moment of connection, and every hour you share in support of Future In Sight and our mission to support the independence of our blind and visually impaired clients.
