I volunteer because I have the time and inclination to reach out to others in a small way. By giving rides to and from home for doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping or whatever is needed by clients brings me a sense of satisfaction.
Our society is geared towards people who have cars and those who don’t suffer an extreme disadvantage. My satisfaction comes from providing something useful to those without and besides, I get to meet a lot of nice people as a reward.
