The programs and services we offer come at a cost. Ultimately, we do not turn anyone away who needs us – this is why we need YOU.

There are many ways to support our mission from volunteering to drive our clients, helping a family member, friend or colleague who is experiencing vision loss get connected to us, donating a gently used or brand new accessibility tool or device (more info below), and sharing our emails or social media posts to help raise awareness of who we are and what we do.

Monetary donations are another big way you can help us continue to support our clients and their families regardless of one’s ability to pay. You can make a secure online donation here.

If you prefer to donate by check, please make your check payable to Future In Sight and mail it to:

Future In Sight
25 Walker Street
Concord NH 03301

Whether you donate online or by mail, please let us know if your donation is being made in honor of or in memory of someone special to you.

Future In Sight is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. EIN: 02-0223606.

How to maximize the impact of your financial gift:

Consider a recurring donation

There are certain times of the year when the public is more generous. We greatly appreciate those times but we must also plan for the many months between. Please consider a recurring donation to help your donation reach even further.

Become a recurring donor by selecting the ‘Recurring’ button on the donation page and setting the ‘Donation frequency’ to a frequency of your choosing. We love a monthly gift!

Donate a Gently Used or New Item

In addition to financial support, we welcome donations of gently used (and fully functional) low vision aids and devices such as magnifying glasses, lamps and UV filters that can be repurposed to help another client. We also accept donations of new CCTVs and braillers. If you would like to donate an item, contact 603-224-4039 or [email protected]. You can also stop by 25 Walker Street in Concord, NH during business hours (M-F 8AM-4PM).

Planned Giving

A planned gift is a powerful way to make a lasting impact and support the community we serve for years to come. By including Future In Sight in your will or donating unused retirement assets like your IRA or 401(k), you can leave a legacy while gaining potential tax benefits. You can also give through a donor-advised fund, contribute appreciated stocks or donate a life insurance policy that you no longer need. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor about what options might be best for you.

The following is suggested language for how to remember us in a legal document such as your will or trust: “New Hampshire Association For The Blind dba Future In Sight, a nonprofit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of New Hampshire and with its principal business address as 25 Walker Street, Concord, New Hampshire 03301.”

Planned giving options:

A bequest in your will or provision in your trust directing a gift to Future In Sight provides you with an opportunity to create a lasting legacy.

Your will or estate plan can designate gifts of cash, real estate property or retirement plan assets to be made in one of several ways:

  • Specific bequest: a gift of a specific amount or piece of property
    • Example: “I give $5,000 or my XYZ common stock to Future In Sight, a non-profit corporation, for its general corporate purposes.”
  • Residuary bequest: a percentage of or the remainder of your estate

There are a number of ways for you to create a charitable gift using appreciated stock or other assets, which return an income to you and usually to one other person. Charitable Gift Annuities are suitable for gifts of $5,000 or more. Charitable Remainder Trusts are an option for larger gifts.

Here are the differences:

  • A Charitable Gift Annuity may help you increase your spendable income, provide a fixed, steady income, and gain an immediate charitable income tax
    • Example: “I give, devise and bequeath, all the rest, residue and remainder of my property, however acquired and wherever situated to Future In Sight.”
  • Contingent bequest: a gift taking effect only if something does or does not happen, e.g. another beneficiary does not survive you
    • Example: “In the event my Aunt Mary Jones should not survive me, I give my father’s silver and coin collection to Future In Sight.”

It is easy to name Future In Sight as the beneficiary, or one of the beneficiaries, of your life insurance policy or any one of your retirement plans. By making a charitable gift in this manner, you may avoid estate and income taxes while creating a lasting legacy.

Just as you should periodically review your will and estate plan, you should also periodically review the beneficiary designations on any life insurance, IRA, 401(k) or other retirement plan you own (or over which you have a power of appointment given to you by someone else).

You may even consider gifting an “obsolete” insurance policy by naming the Future In Sight as the owner. You will be entitled to an income tax deduction that is usually equivalent to the paid up value or replacement value of the policy.

Simply contact the administrator of your plan and ask for a Change of Beneficiary form. You may even be able to find one on their web site.

Giving real estate, whether undeveloped, residential or commercial, provides you with another method to make a tax-advantaged gift. If your real estate has grown in value, it may be a perfect asset to fund a Charitable Remainder Trust (see above). It is possible to continue the use of your home or property during your lifetime while receiving the benefit of an immediate charitable tax deduction.

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about.

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth and you can recommend grants to any eligible IRS-qualified public charity – like Future In Sight. Donor-advised funds are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle in the United States because they are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to give to charity.

Examples of public charities that offer DAFs are Fidelity Charitable, the United Way, and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
