FIS Tech: HearLight Canvas – Your Audio Visual App Creating Digital Art [VIRTUAL] *ADULTS ONLY*

Are you curious about creating art in a completely new way—through sound and touch? In this workshop, we’ll explore HearLight Canvas, an audio based art app available for iOS iPhone and iPad, designed specifically for people who are blind or have low vision that lets you “hear” colors and shapes as you move your finger across the canvas and sketch using audio feedback. You’ll learn the app’s layout, understand how its View and Paint modes work, play with the sounds associated with different colors, choose and experiment with different “brushes,” and create your own digital art.

The experience emphasizes spatial understanding and sensory exploration, and while the focus is on sound guided creativity, your creations can also be shared visually with others. This session promises to be a fresh, sensory rich way to expand how you think about art and creativity with tech.
