About Calle Walton
Calle started losing her vision in 2008. A brain tumor was discovered in her optic chiasm and a
subsequent biopsy led to a diagnosis and treatment for neurosarcoidosis. At the start of her senior year
in high school, and after eight years of trying different treatments, Calle lost the rest of her vision. A new
biopsy was done and revealed that the tumor was actually a pure cell germinoma cancer. She spent her
senior year undergoing chemo and radiation treatments in Boston.
Calle finished her high school career at W Ross MacDonald School for the Blind (WRMS) in Brantford,
Ontario. In February of 2018, only 10 days after arriving at WRMS, a casting agency called the school
looking for a young girl to play a small recurring role in a show being piloted by Ben Stiller’s production
company. Calle decided to audition and was ultimately chosen for the part of Chloe Riley on In The
Dark. The show was picked up and ran for four seasons on The CW Network. In The Dark is currently
available on Netflix.
Today, Calle is a graduate of Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Calle and her guide dog, Teal, are inseparable.
She has an agent and auditions for roles in hopes of continuing her acting career. She is also enrolled at
Trent University in Ontario, Canada with the goal of becoming a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
Calle has not regained any vision but has been cancer free since 2017.
