Crafting through Time: The Forge of Legends & the Circle of Iron [VIRTUAL] *ADULTS & YOUTH*

August 4 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This session provides an immersive journey into the heart of a fourteenth century English village smithy, recreated entirely through the power of sound and historical narrative. Participants will explore the life cycle of iron from its raw state in the earth to its transformation into protective armory. To bring this history into your hands, you will create your own tactile Coat of Arms shield using simple household craft items to represent your personal strengths, passions, skills, and future goals. This hands-on project allows you to experience the medieval process of designing a lasting legacy of protection and identity.

Materials:

  • One sheet of craft foam or thick cardboard to serve as your shield base.
  • A ballpoint pen, stylus, or sharpened wooden pencil to press deep textures and lines into your shield.
  • A pair of scissors to cut out your shield shape.
  • Glue, tape, or sticky foam dots to attach your elements.
  • Textured craft items of your choice, such as foam stickers, yarn, sandpaper pieces, buttons, small twigs, fabric scraps, or dry pasta shapes.
  • A blank piece of paper or an index card to write or braille your final personal motto.
