NH ParentConnect: Summer Fun/Summer Expectations; Balancing Strategies for Fun Activities and Responsibilities for Your Child with Vision Loss Over Summer Break

Summer is a great time to relax and take a break from the busy school years’ schedule and routine by having more time to spend with your family, being at home or going on some adventures. Summertime can also be a time for growth through life experiences and opportunities with your family. Join us for this interactive workshop to hear of some activities and ideas from crafty creations, nature walks, gardening to music, and movement to do during your free time. Intertwining with having fun, we’ll also be discussing ways for parents to encourage their blind child to become independent no matter what age.

Presenters, Stephanie Hurd and Susan LaVenture will give some suggestions of how to integrate your blind child into sharing your family’s household responsibilities and taking a real part in the family unit as a contributor, which in turn helps youth get ready to become teens and adults.
