Outta Sight Cooking: Arroz Con Gandules *ADULTS & YOUNG ADULTS ONLY*
January 14 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Try new dishes with the start of the New Year! The history of Arroz Con Gandules (Puerto Rican rice with pigeon peas or kidney beans) starts around the 16th century in Puerto Rico when the techniques on how to grow rice on the island were becoming effective. In addition, this dish was called a compound rice and was created in order to have more food available for parties as well as making it possible to cook two different foods into one dish. We welcome Renee Chalifour as she instructs us on her method for this authentic dish, which will leave everyone wanting more! Ingredients will be sent out ahead of time to cook along with Renee. Follow along or listen and learn to prepare it for your family or friends for that special occasion.
