
UNH Course – Aging Eyes: Seeing Solutions for Low Vision with Skills, Tools & Tech

Come learn about the most common causes of vision loss and their impact on daily life. Learn how you can use techniques, devices and apps to not only live but thrive with vision loss! The first class in this 2-part series will focus on general information and low-tech solutions to common problems. The second class will build on these skills while also addressing higher tech solutions including apps, smart home devices, wearables and AI integration. Don’t be intimidated, many are easier than you think! If you or someone you know has Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Cataracts, Diabetic Retinopathy or another eye condition not correctable by glasses, this class is for you! Low vision aids and devices will be available for hands-on demonstrations.
Presenter: Beth Daisy Beth Daisy graduated from Cornell University and spent 21 years as a Marine and civilian helicopter pilot before pivoting to low vision Occupational Therapy with Future In Sight, where she is the Adult Vision Rehabilitation Manager. She has a master’s degree in OT and a graduate certificate in Assistive Technology from UNH. She is a Certified Low Vision Therapist (CLVT), Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). She has guest lectured at UNH and was featured in an AMDF cooking series for people with low vision.
This course is available for $31.00 through the UNH site. The first session will take place on Friday, October 3rd from 1-2:30PM and the second will be on Friday, October 10th from 1-2:30PM.
